I had taken my nephew Kimi and niece Lily to Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest for MNS’ annual Raptor Watch event with the promise of a day at the beach. After a short hike we arrived to find that the tide was out. That was the beginning of our discoveries….
With time to kill as we waited for the tide to come in, what better than to wander the dunes, climb the rocks and wade through the pools in search of life or something like it.

This thin hairlike seaweed is also used in salad.
Sea grapes – we ere told by the other guys on the beach with us that they are often collected for use in traditional Malay salad or barbecued as is.
